Your meal plan is encoded on your Panther Card. Present your card to the cashier when you make a purchase, and Dining Passes or Dining Dollars will automatically be deducted from your account, depending on your preference at each transaction.

All students residing in residence halls must purchase a meal plan. We provide many options to choose from and are happy to advise you on your selection. If you reside in a residence hall and do not choose a meal plan, you will be assigned one. Students living in apartment-style accommodations are not required to have meal plans but may purchase any of our plans.

Dining Dollars are food dollars attached to all meal plan options. One Dining Dollar is equal to one dollar of buying power. Dining Dollars attached to meal plans carry over from fall to spring semester, but any unused balances are forfeited at the end of the spring semester. Additional Dining Dollars can be added anytime during the semester.

Panther Funds are a safe alternative to carrying cash. A pre-paid, stored value program on your Panther Card, Panther Funds can be used just like cash at all dining facilities on campus.

Yes. If you decide to change your meal plan, you have a grace period at the beginning of each term to change plans. Visit the Panther Central Publications Page to complete a Meal Plan Application/Change form and submit it to Panther Central no later than the last day of the add/drop period. Please refer to your Housing/Dining Services Contract or academic calendar for the exact add/drop date.

All students can purchase meal plans; faculty and staff may also purchase a meal plan through the Lunch Money program. Meal plans ensure that you will have well-balanced, nutritious meals regardless of your "cash on hand" situation. Enjoy flexibility with Ultimate Access, Dining Passes, and Dining Dollars. You can opt to dine in at our two state of the art "all-you-care-to-eat" facilities, or at any of our other twenty-four campus locations.

Of course! Eating in the dining hall is a great way to mingle with students by being a part of their normal day-to-day life outside of the classroom. Faculty and Staff can purchase Lunch Money or Panther Funds from Panther Central as a convenient way to dine.

Of course! We have job opportunities at many of our dining facilities, and we always encourage students to seek employment with us. Student schedules are flexible with great pay. Contact our Human Resources Assistant at jtalley@pitt.edu for a list of open positions on campus

Hours vary for each dining location during special periods.  Any adjustments to hours will be posted in advance, check our website's Homepage.
